It looks like an imprint in the ground to me. Like a tread mark from a bulldozer or some kind of heavy machinery?
But then those shapes on the right side of the pic look like boat ties or something that you'd see on the edge of a pier... hmmm.
I believe that you've stumped me!!! All that rotating is making me dizzy too :-)
