Leaf veins!
Dang it! This is what I first thought of when I saw the other picture. The texture between the lines on the previous seemed to have depth because of your trickery and threw me off the scent. Guess I'll just trust my gut next time.
trickery! ha. all the clues on depth were gone in the other one.
