The Birds

One of the things The Fuzz's Sweetie and he like to see at the Renaissance Festival is The Birds.

Here you can see the Owl making a pass over the spectators.  This guy flies without a sound.  His feathers are designed special for this purpose.  And here's a look at him on the perch.

They got to see one of the Hawks , but The Fuzz didn't get a good pix of him.

But here's a look at Igor, the Vulture, in flight.

And on the ground.

The Fuzz and all had their usual picnic lunch in the nearby woods.  And then it was back for more fun and music.

Renaissance Fair

Between his lazy days, and busy days, The Fuzz has been a bit slack around here.  One of those busy days, involved our Annual Renaissance Fair Trip.
The weather was excellent.  This year the Young Daughter brought a couple of friends along.  So The Fuzz and His Sweetie were free to wander around on their own.

Here's a look at some of the dancing activities.

The venders are always ready to demonstrate in the hope of making a sale.

There are plenty of colorful characters to see.

And of course the kids love it.

The Fuzz and His Sweetie always dress up themselves.  After all, that is part of the fun.  If you go, you should too!

"Gypsy Geoff"

On our recent visit to the Renaissance Festival, The Fuzz, His Sweetie, and Young Daughter once again had the opportunity to see Gypsy Geoff *in action.
Here's a look at him setting up for the exciting climax of his Dazzling Demonstration of Daring Dexterity.
From top, to bottom-
Washtub,
Chair,
Broom,
And Gypsy Geoff Himself!
Kids,
Don't Try This At Home!

*We've seen this guy before.

Renaissance Festival

It was time for our annual visit to the Renaissance Festival. Last year we went a bit later in the season, and froze our tushes off! So this year, we hit the opening day. We were joined by that Schoolteacher Daughter and her Loving Husband.
Here's a look at some of the Royal Party.
We're hoping that maybe next year, we can be joined by some other family members. That would be fun.

Renaissance Festival 2010.4

And who could pass on a chance to see that Master of Mayhem, Gypsy Geoff.
He was going to great lengths to stay warm in the cold.

He even got out of this mess!
That Gypsy Geoff is a slick one.

We did wimp out and leave a little early. After we got though the nasty traffic, we took the back roads home, stopping along the way for a bite of super.

And so ended our annual Renaissance Festival trip.

Renaissance Festival 2010.3

Here's more pix from our trip to the Renaissance Festival.
These are the Infamous Hey Nunnie Nunnie Ladies. The Fuzz's Sweetie and that (inappropriately attired) Young Daughter, really enjoyed them. Unfortunately, The Fuzz, himself is somewhat hard of hearing, and missed a lot of it. But he said he'd take their word for it, and he did get the pix.
Here's a look at Sarah Marie Mullen playing on her harp with freezing finger tips. We had just purchased some Very Expensive Toffee when we heard her, and stayed to listen for a bit. When we liked what we heard, she stopped a bit to warm her frozen fingers and tell us about her music. We're suckers for this sort of thing and took home a CD.

Renaissance Festival 2010.2

During our excursion to the Renaissance Festival 2010, we stopped in at the Rock Place to ad mire the rocks. They have fossils and a bunch of other cool stuff. This looks a lot like some kind of weird surrealistic landscape. But it was just one of the cool rocks there. The Fuzz couldn't afford to by it (nothing there is cheap!) but, he did manage o get a couple pix for you.And we'll have even more exciting pix soon. If we can get that Fuzz off his lazy butt.

Renaissance Festival 2010.1

We went over to the Renaissance Festival over the weekend. To the right is the Bell Guy of Cast In Bronze fame. He can get a bit dramatic at times.
We try to get over there once each year for fun and just to hang out with "normal" people.
It was a bit on the cool side, shoot, it was downright COLD.
Things started a bit slow, but they did pick up after a while.
It looked like some of the clothing vendors were wearing half their inventory, just to stay warm.
This Umbrella Lady was pretty wrapped up herself.
The Fuzz and His Sweetie always dress appropriately for this event. But this Year that Young Daughter decided 21st century garb was more her style. Too bad for her.
By lunch time there were plenty of people there.
This was when we slipped off into the woods for our little picnic.
Well, that's all for now. Keep watching for more exciting pix from Renaissance Festival 2010!

Even More Renaissance Stuff

We promised a look at some of those Renaissance Characters running loose out there. You don't meet a fellow like this very often on the outside, but here you will.

This whole Renaissance Affair is a lot more fun if one dresses appropriately. If one were to dress like this on the street, one might get locked up, especially if armed. But here you can carry your broadsword all you want. This is the home of broadswords & beer. They do insist on tying a piece of ribbon around it, but so what.
This guy does seem to be a hit with the ladies though.

We did watch a couple of the acts. But for the most part, we didn't do much, but walk around and look. Even if you can't buy, you can get ideas on how to make your own cool stuff.

So here's one more of those
Renaissance Characters for you.

More Renaissance Stuff

When we go to the Renaissance Festival, we always make a point of watching the birdies. And by the time we got to the birdies, The Fuzz had retrieved his camera from the trunk of the car.
The food in there is a bit pricey for a varlet like The Fuzz, so we usually slip off with our cooler into the woods for our own medieval meal. This time we remembered the camera. It's hard to get real close to these birds for a pix, and they don't always hold still. But here's a couple of pictures with that zoomed in effect. 1st, of course is this owl. Here's the lady upstairs with her falcon. He looks a little like a bug with his eyes covered like that. But she took that stuff off, and let him fly. If you look quick you might see him here. They had the falcon trying to snatch a lure being whirled around on a cord. I guess he finally got it, but The Fuzz couldn't get the pix. Next time we'll get a look at a couple of the strange characters running loose out there.

Renaissance Festival

It seems that our last post here was on November 3rd. This was like 6 days ago! For those average readers of Kinda Fuzzy, this is almost a week! You don't need to do the math yourselves (either of you) as you can see The Fuzz has done it for you.
The Fuzz confesses that this is all his fault. His lame excuse is he has been A) busy, or B) lazy.
We have been moving some furniture around, and there is always Firewood to get up.But we did make it over to the Renaissance Festival for our annual medieval outing. We do enjoy this even if we're too broke to buy any of that high priced stuff. But it's nice to just hang around with normal looking people once in a while. We regret to say that The Fuzz accidentally left his camera in the trunk of the car, so there aren't a lot of the usual cool pix to post. But he did manage to bring it in later in the afternoon so we did get a few for you.We always enjoy the bird guy, and The Fuzz did get a couple pix of the birdies. Maybe we'll get them up soon. But for now, enjoy these.

Nerves of Steel (2)

Ah! This is what was supposed to happen. But it had to be done in a roundabout manner. The Fuzz's Sweetie has her own way of doing things, (don't we all) and her system was used this time. And with *success!

But as was mentioned in a very recent post, this lady, while not being attired in appropriate "Renaissance" style, displayed "Nerves of Steel" in this situation.

*Unfortunately, to see a larger pix, you will have to go to that previous and less successful post. Again, I say ##%&*%!!!

Nerves of Steel

Some more from the Renaissance Festival. I don't know why all I can post is a *giant pix, but that's how it is today. I'm not so sure I would have been so calm after having watched the first part of these guys show.

*You'll have to click on the pix to see the whole thing! ##*%%#!

(I hope I can figure out what is going wrong here!)

Gypsy Geoff

They finally got him!

Yes they got Gypsy Geoff. I believe I mentioned enjoying the "various entertainers" here at the Renaissance Festival. The man was obviously a nut case, and here he's being put in that Straitjacket. And now they're chaining poor Geoff up!

But he actually encouraged these people to do this to him. He thinks this is better than getting a "real job".

The Fuzz suspected that old Geoff here had something up his sleeve. But how could he get it out in this condition? Or more to the point, how could he get himself out of this condition?

But not to worry.

First he wiggles out of the chains,
Next out of that Straitjacket.

And Gypsy Geoff is a free man once again.

What do you do with a guy like this?

The Fuzz coughed up some of those dollar coins in his purse. I mean, wouldn't you? How often do you get to see this stuff.

I wonder if the policemens even try to lock up this guy.

Return To The Renaissance

It was that time again
Time for our annual trip to times past, back to the Renaissance. It was a cool morning, but that was fine for a trip to the Renaissance Festival. The Fuzz likes it there because he can walk around with his Broad Sward and not get arrested.
Soon after we arrived, we came upon the Dance. This may have been their way of keeping warm.
It's more fun to go there in costume. It is sometimes hard to tell who's part of the "show" and who's just there for fun.
But the all the Dancers were having fun, and staying warm.
The Fuzz, His Sweetie and Young Daughter all dress up for their annual frolic in the renaissance. But this is not The Fuzz. I'm not sure exactly who it is. But it just goes to show that you never know who or what you might run in to over there.
We mostly just walk around and blend in with the rest of the weirdos. We like to look at the stuff in the shops, but it's mostly too high for us poor folks. But there is a lot of "cool stuff" and one can get ideas for how to make one's own "cool stuff".
And some of the various entertainers are fun to watch. The Fuzz always carries a bunch of dollar coins to tip them. Paper dollars are so un-renaissance.
We'll have even more pix up soon.

The Jerk

While The Fuzz was at the Renaissance Fair, he found himself near this Beer Maid. I'm not sure what caught his attention, perhaps it was the tip jar.

But let me say right now, The Look was not directed at The Fuzz, (who I believe remained unnoticed) but at The Jerk. Yes, it is sad to say, but there are jerks everywhere, even at such a wonderful place as the Renaissance Fair. At the moment The Fuzz was occupied with his photography, The Jerk was asking for a beer. And of course the Beer Maid complied, with a charming smile, I might add. But then, The Jerk walked away. Fortunatly, for The Jerk, this young lady was not armed with one of those Broadswords.

This one was, and she means business.

The week we hope to see the 21st Annual "Golden Classic" Tournament of Bands, with 17 marching bands from two states.

The People with the Funny Clothes.

So now, (still at the Renaissance Faire) a look at the people with the Funny Clothes.

This One was on the move.

This One was not.

He seems to be taking in the sights in a relaxed manner.

I suppose you could say he is one of the sights, but that is what's so cool, you don't always know who is there on business, and who is there for fun.

Of course there are the Ladies too.

Some are pretty elaborate...

And some are not.

These guys were just being photogenic.

And lastly, some Dancers.
