Hanging On

Well it's time for The Fuzz to get off his butt.
So here's a pix of this last…

Hanger On

The Fuzz is sorry for neglecting this fuzzy place, but life has been a bit fuzzy as of late.
But this is not the place to go into all that.

As he posted this pix, he realized that it is quite appropriate.

So Hang in there everyone!

Night Shot

The Fuzz has been attempting to make a picture of the Moon for a while.
He has not been satisfied with the results.
Take this one for example.
In a way it's not so bad.

But this was taken over the pier in the afternoon!

So the other night, when the moon was full, he made another attempt.

His Sweetie had wanted to have a look from the beach where there wouldn't be so much light pollution from the town.  So The Fuzz went along and brought his camera.

And again, things just didn't work out.

But he did get this nice pix of the pier in the moonlight.

And if you are inclined toward silly poems...
Here's a link to a recycled one.

A Long Shot

The other day, The Fuzz and His Sweetie took a drive up to the other end of the Island*.
Whilst she did a bit of sketching near area "A", The Fuzz ("B") had a walk a bit farther out along the inlet and around the end.
The tide was pretty low already, and still running out through the New River Inlet.
With his binoculars The Fuzz could see across over toward Sneads Ferry pretty well.  And he saw this cool boat.  It just looked like a nice little picture.
So he figured he'd give it a shot and maxed out the lens...
And ended up with this.
Still a bit hard to make it out.
But The Fuzz is not one to give up once he is obsessed with something.
Now it was time for some applied Photoshop.
Now we have this.
And while he was playing around...
Let's go for Artsy !
Just a bit of fun here.

Non-Mystery Pix

The Fuzz had thought to use this one as a Mystery Pix.
But it was just too easy!

Taking A Swim In Paris

Regular readers of Kinda Fuzzy may remember that back in the late springtime, The Fuzz and His Sweetie had the amazing opportunity to visit Europe, and our Air Force Daughter.

They were also able to work in a short trip to Paris! One of the Fuzz's favorite parts of this was riding on the Seine. While they were waiting for passengers near the Pont d' léna, The Fuzz saw this family, taking a swim.As He and his Sweetie watched, they made their way across the river,to where this boat was moored. And then, they climbed out and up onto the quay.

The Fuzz has more pix along the river. He's hoping to get some up here eventually. It may take him a while, but don't give up on him yet!

Mystery Pix- Not!

Still no success with our Mystery Pix. But it's not an easy one.
This is not really a Mystery Pix, I just think it's cool.
The Fuzz went out to the trailer for a bit after work. He hopes all is ready for the inspector now. We'll give him a call tomorrow and hope for the best. Maybe we can start staying out there soon.

July 4th

We pretty much took things easy on the 4th.
The Fuzz & His Sweetie took the pooches for a walk along the river.
Later, Young Daughter and His Sweetie played with beads and The Fuzz took a short stroll.
Here's a couple of pix of what's left of an old building in the woods near here.

About all that's left are the walls and some tin laying around.
And here's a look at The Beading Session.

Iguana's Chicken

I thought I'd give it a shot.
This is for that Lazy Iguana.

A Morning on the Road

The Fuzz went to pick up the Air Force Daughter.
It was a fairly long drive, so to avoid traffic, he left out pretty early that morning, well before dawn.

Around Sunrise, he found himself at this lake.
He had been just driving along, intent on the destination. It was a beautiful morning with the mist over the farm ponds and all. Several times he thought how "this would be a great picture". Yet despite having a camera, he foolishly drove on, thinking there was some reason to hurry. Finally, he came to himself and thought, "What am I doing? What's the big rush here? Why shouldn't I slow down and enjoy this beautiful morning?"
Shortly after, around sunrise, he came by this lake. And this time he did have enough sense to stop the car and make a few pictures.
Here's one.

Cute Dog Picture

From time to time we post those "Cute Kitten Pictures" here.
Well so as not to be unfair to all the dog lovers out there in the cyberworld, it seemed to be time to get a "Cute Doggy Picture" up.
So here is the pooch- post bath.
The Little Bitch gets to smelling a bit stout sometimes, and the only thing that will help is a good bath. But in this weather it would be rather cruel to hang her out on the clothesline to dry. That's when the Blow Dryer comes out.
So here is a shot of Young Daughter Blow Drying the Little Bitch.
A "Cute Doggy Picture" for your enjoyment.

Getting Tired of It

There was (still is) a pile of wood in the front yard. The Fuzz has been collecting bits here and there. A lot of this stuff is too big to fit in the heater as is, so it needs to be cut up and some, split. It may be recalled that we have been blessed with a Log Splitter just for situations like this. So with cold, snow and ice predicted, The Fuzz decided to pull the thing out of the woods and put it to work. He should have known something was not right when it was so hard to handle hitching it to the truck. But The Fuzz is the persistent (stubborn, hard headed) sort, and manhandled things, managing to get it all hooked together. As he was pulling the thing past the house, he figured he'd stop and pick up the gas can, saving some steps latter. He can be very efficient at times. This was when he discovered that the gas can was empty.
So, always the thinker, he thought, "Since this thing is already hitched up, I'll just pull it to the gas station and fill the tank there". It seemed like a good plan. It was at this point that he realized why it had been so hard to handle the thing. He discovered the tire was flat. The next step was to get out the tire pump. After about 20 min. The Fuzz was forced to face the fact that he wasn't going to be able to pump up this tire like that. But the "Snow" was coming, and the wood still needed to be split. Using the powerful 4x4 pickup truck, he dragged the splitter the rest of the way to the wood, and forced it into position. (This was easier than carrying the wood to the machine.) Next he unhitched it, and drove off with the empty gas can in search of the expensive fuel.
The Fuzz did manage to get the wood split, before dark, and in time to be ready for the "Wintery Mix".
Now he has to deal with the flat tire. If you look closely, you may notice that this tire is not like the one on your car (or mine for that matter). There are no lug nuts, the whole rim must be removed. So today, The Fuzz jacked the thing up, pulled off the grease cap, pulled out the cotter pin, removed the castle nut and bearings and finally got the useless tire off the thing. Tomorrow he will carry it to work with him, and if the boss-man is not watching, maybe he can find out why the air came out.
The tire on the wheelbarrow is leaky too. But that's not why it's pictured here. I just wanted to show off our little ice.

More from the Top

Even though I couldn't get to the Tippy-Top, there was still a bit of a view. Kinda trippy how as the mountains fade into the distance, they just seem to blend into the sky. I like the mountains. But the trees are dying. They say it is acid rain. The little sign up there claims the rain is as stout as vinegar up there. I like vinegar on my collards, but it seems the trees don't. and there are dead trees all over up there, as can be seem.

I of course rode up on the Parkway. You have to ride the Parkway to get to Mt. Mitchell.
The Parkway is a pleasant ride. You see a lot of Bikes there when the weather is good, shoot, even when the weather is not so good. I've been caught in the rain up there many a time. I used to visit Boone NC from time to time and usually got rained on at least once. But no rain on this trip. One thing about the Parkway though, the speed limit is only 45. So if you want an exciting ride, flirting with death, you'll have to go some where else. There are other places.
This is one of the tunnels. I tried to take a picture riding though, but with the poor light, shaky camera, and me trying not to get hurt, it didn't come out too good.

Oh, and, Puddin' had to come back home.

The Apple Post

Well It seems we can post pictures again, I'm not real sure, since we can't preview them. I suppose if it posts, we can see them then. So here are those tiny little apples I was mentioning the other day. We have two trees, but all I can find are these few, on this one branch, of this one tree. Of the two trees, this one is a sort of wild one, or at least, the least tasty. The other is a Winesap type, which makes yummy pies. But alas, that one seems to have no survivors. These apples are also on a branch that is hanging low across a path which gets constant use due to our particular facilities here. So really, I don't think we can count on much here.
For the curious, I am still employed. The morning after my Exciting Episode, some unfortunate flipped this Transfer Truck right up the street from the garage. This kept the Street Dpt. busy and diverted most of the attention from my own fiasco. All that came of it was a "Be Careful" meeting.
Puddin' is doing fine.

Technical Difficulties

Ah, yes. I wanted to tell you about the few little apples that had survived the terrible freeze, and I even had pictures to prove it. It was to be an "Apple Post". But it seems that Blogger has issues with apples, specifically, Macintosh Apples. I didn't expect Blogger to be prejudiced against minorities, but now I see how it is. At first I thought, perhaps, I had personally done something to offend them. But after some investigation, it seems that the Mac Minority is suffering discrimination in these posting issues. Maybe soon, they will be stricken by conscience, and let us once more, post our humble pictures into Cyberspace.
