Genetically Engineered Crops Protected

Saw this little item.

Obama signs bill that protects makers of genetically engineered crops from federal courts

"The so-called Monsanto Protection Act essentially requires the Agriculture Department to approve the growing, harvesting and selling of such crops, even if the courts rule environmental studies are incomplete -- undermining  the judicial review system and posing potential health risks, critics say."

Oh well.

Gustav Whitehead & No. 21

While The Fuzz was poking around on the internet he came across this little bit:

"Wright brothers flew 2 years after Gustav Whitehead, researcher claims"

It appears that there may be something to this.

"That's the shocking claim by Australian aviation historian John Brown…"

"Even “Jane’s: All the World’s Aircraft” -- widely considered the essential bible of flight -- has acknowledged Whitehead's achievement and Brown's research. With the headline "justice delayed is justice denied…' "
Gustave Whitehead (born Gustav Albin Weisskopf) and his 1901 monoplane Number 21
Whitehead in his working clothes

From Jane's:

"Whitehead equipped his aircraft No. 21, known as the Condor, with two acetylene-fuelled engines of his own design: 10 hp for the road wheels and 20 hp as the main source of forward flight. 'Main' because at an appropriate moment during take-off, the flick of a lever would transfer the road engine's output to augment the motor driving the twin propellers. He was by no means the only aviator to incorporate powered wheels into his designs, but by the time Jane began compiling his annuals, the practice was in decline and soon became lost in the mists of history, to be reborn in different form later."
And:
"In the early hours of 14 August 1901, the Condor propelled itself along the darkened streets of Bridgeport, Connecticut, with Whitehead, his staff and an invited guest in attendance. In the still air of dawn, the Condor's wings were unfolded and it took off from open land at Fairfield, 15 miles from the city, and performed two demonstration sorties. The second was estimated as having covered 1½ miles at a height of 50 feet, during which slight turns in both directions were demonstrated.
"This, it must be stressed, was more than two years before the Wrights manhandled their Flyer from its shed and flew a couple of hundred feet in a straight line after lifting off from an adjacent wooden rail hammered into the ground. And, obviously, because of his demonstrated expertise in manoeuvring, Whitehead had flown missions like this before, suggesting his lead was even greater. (Two months earlier, his No. 20 was reported to have flown from the same field, albeit weighted with sandbags in lieu of an occupant.)"

So why do the Wright Bros. get the credit?

"The first [reason] is that critical examination of the Wrights' legacy is deflected by a non-sequitur of elephantine proportions: That because they were the most successful of the early aeroplane pioneers, they must have been 'the first to fly'."

And how about this?

"Secondly, as was only disclosed much later, under sanction of a Freedom of Information request by Senator Lowell Weicker Jr, the Smithsonian Institute in Washington - undisputed repository of American aviation history - secured possession of the precious Wright Flyer No. 1 from surviving brother Orville only after agreeing in a legally-binding document that "the Smithsonian shall [not state] any aircraft...earlier than the Wright aeroplane of 1903...was capable of carrying a man under its own power in controlled flight". History is normally written by researchers who have dispassionately analysed all relevant data and not, as here, by the lawyers of interested parties. (Strictly, the document is also nonsense, since the wording contrives to prohibit the Smithsonian from mentioning numerous prior dirigible airships - which are 'aircraft' too.)"
Gustave Whitehead and his 1901 monoplane taken near Whitehead's Pine Street shop. His infant daughter, Rose, sits on her father's lap, and the engine that powers the front landing-gear wheels is on the ground in front of the others.  (1901)

And so, there you have it.  Most of this was taken from this-

Blue Is Green & So On...

In regard to our "Recycle (Blue)" post, Woodie had this to say-

"...The carts allow for more privacy, IE less people commenting on how many liquor, wine and beer bottles are in your bin, which DOES happen, sometimes. :-)"

Actually, this can be an issue.
Back in The Days, The Fuzz used to "Pull Garbage" in little orange carts from behind the houses.
There was one fellow who used to carefully wrap his trash up in paper bags. The Fuzz and his coworkers, in an attempt to maximize the space in their buggies, would sometimes rip open bags like his to better pack the garbage in. This fellow would get pretty upset when all his liqueur bottles were suddenly exposed. Back then this was a dry county!

Of course now days, this isn't much of an issue with all this automated stuff.

When The Fuzz was asked how he got into this line of work, he finally admitted that it wasn't really the money, but the prestige that attracted him.

Back To Work ("R" Rated)

Last week we took some time off from land clearing for a camping break. Well it was time to get back to work.

Things are progressing here. We have space for a Trailer now. Of course we don't exactly have a Trailer yet. But that may be for the best since we really aren't ready to move one.
We are getting some firewood out of this though. We can use it at either place since we will, of course, heat with wood in the new place when we get set up.

And now to deal with another matter, some "shock" has been expressed that The Fuzz would mention Skinny Dipping. I quote here,"Skinny Dipping?!?! I'm shocked that you would even consider such at thing!!!".

Well, I'm sure most of my readers realize by now, that The Fuzz is not one to shy away from controversy.

At the risk of another scandal, We will post this evidence that "Skinny Dipping" does occur, although to protect the guilty, the perpetrator shall remain anonymous.

The Return of Lydia (Rated "R")

Oh Lydia, oh Lydia, say, have you met Lydia?
Lydia The Tattooed Lady.
She has eyes that folks adore so,
and a torso even more so.

Lydia, oh Lydia, that encyclo-pidia.
Oh Lydia The Queen of Tattoo.
On her back is The Battle of Waterloo.
Beside it, The Wreck of the Hesperus too.
And proudly above waves the red, white, and blue.
You can learn a lot from Lydia!

La-la-la...la-la-la.
La-la-la...la-la-la.

When her robe is unfurled she will show you the world,
if you step up and tell her where.
For a dime you can see Kankakee or Paree,
or Washington crossing The Delaware.

La-la-la...la-la-la.
La-la-la...la-la-la.

Oh Lydia, oh Lydia, say, have you met Lydia?
Lydia The Tattooed Lady.
When her muscles start relaxin',
up the hill comes Andrew Jackson.
Lydia, oh Lydia, that encyclo-pidia.
Oh Lydia The Queen of them all.
For two bits she will do a mazurka in jazz,
with a view of Niagara that nobody has.
And on a clear day you can see Alcatraz.
You can learn a lot from Lydia!

La-la-la...la-la-la.
La-la-la...la-la-la.

Come along and see Buffalo Bill with his lasso.
Just a little classic by Mendel Picasso.
Here is Captain Spaulding exploring the Amazon.
Here's Godiva, but with her pajamas on.

La-la-la...la-la-la.
La-la-la...la-la-la.

Here is Grover Whelan unveilin' The Trilon.
Over on the west coast we have Treasure Isle-on.
Here's Nijinsky a-doin' the rhumba.
Here's her social security numba.

La-la-la...la-la-la.
La-la-la...la-la-la.

Lydia, oh Lydia, that encyclo-pidia.
Oh Lydia The Champ of them all.
She once swept an Admiral clear off his feet.
The ships on her hips made his heart skip a beat.
And now the old boy's in command of the fleet,

for he went and married Lydia!

Well, I promised to keep you up to date on this Sordid Affair, so here are the latest additions. Some Color has been added and it's been given a bit of (Oriental) Character.
This is getting Kinda exciting. The Fuzz is thinking about another one himself. He like to passed out the first time, but things went better with the next. He's still got lots of room for more. Well, we'll see..................

Mail, Car Dealers, and "R" Ratings

Well, our collection of Cat Poetry continues to grow. Thanks to all these Gifted Poets.
In other affairs, The Fuzz got mail the other day. It wasn't a check though. It came from a local Car Dealer. This was his wonderful opportunity for a free automobile, or maybe some other great prize. Did his scratch-off number match the special number on this card ? He was not surprised to find that this was indeed the case.
As he read further, he was promised for sure, that he was in fact a winner. Then he noticed the little " * " there. On further examination of the tiny print, he found that this was actually subject to a match up of another number, only to be found at said Car Dealer.
But he thought, "What the hell, the dealer is in town, and I'll be out anyway". And so, after picking up Young Daughter from the School House, they headed over to collect his winnings.
After an extensive sales talk from "Mohamed", which The Fuzz was somehow able to resist, they found alas, no car, no 4 wheeler, nor $100 bill. But wonder of wonders, he had in fact won a $1,000 Shopping Spree. Young Daughter was thrilled. The Fuzz remained skeptical. He was given a Gift Certificate to go online and order $1,000 worth of Wonderful Merchandise at no cost to him except "Shipping and Handling".
His skepticism it seems was justified. When the Skeptical Fuzz did, in fact, go online, he found a limited selection of unimpressive stuff. And of course the "Shipping and Handling fees seemed a bit steep.
And so now he has a $1,000 Gift Certificate sitting here in front of him that he has no desire to use.

And now for the Scandal.

Yes this is the Topless Post.

The Fuzz wants to take this opportunity to show this Shiny New Tattoo in progress.

To respect her privacy, the woman involved will remain anonymous, but we will keep y'all posted as things progress.

And so, The Fuzz wishes everyone a Wonderful Weekend.

Motorcycling

The other day, The Fuzz took Young Daughter out on the Motorcycle. It was a pretty nice day although it did look like rain for a bit. We rode though the foot hills and up to Lake James State Park.

We weren't the only ones out that day. We saw these folks taking a break up there near the mountains.

We stopped for a break too, and picked up some burgers to carry to the park for a picnic lunch.

Here is a view of the lake from the park with the mountains in the distance.

They have a swimming beach there, and we saw some folks there in the water. Young Daughter waded in and claimed it wasn't too cold. The Fuzz remained sceptical.

They even have these Boat Docking Facilities there so you can come by water and picnic and all.

We enjoyed our (cold) burgers and fries, and headed out around the lake and home.

The Young Daughter is The Fuzz's rider these days since His Sweetie won't ride with him any more after he hit that deer. I suppose the young'un is unaware of the grave danger she is in.

Warning!!
Kinda Fuzzy may be Rated R. The Fuzz will publish a Topless Post soon.

Exposed !

We may be getting a little sensationalist here, but here it is.The Fuzz was caught in the very act of bathing. I know this could cause a Scandal, but it's out at last. The truth is, that The Fuzz is a regular Bather, at least once a week, wether he needs it or not. We know this is a bit excessive, but, he says, it just feels good.

In the future, I hope there will be no more of this nudity on this blog. We want to keep things clean here.

Stein Hoard

Some time ago a certain Blogger mentioned Beer Steins, and wondered if people actually use them. Well here is The Fuzz's modest Beer Stein Hoard. On the left is one that came from a Yankee Uncle. Next and the far right came from Californian Grandmother of Sweetie. The remaining Stein, was gift from Dear Daughter. While it is true that they mostly gather dust, all are completely functional, and actually used on occasion. Here [File Photo] is actual, photographical proof of this fact. Of course this particular beer is long gone, but you can trust that it went to a good cause.

In other news, still no real rain, no well water.

No this is not becoming a porn site, but be forewarned of scandalous Fuzz Pix soon.

Boxes

One of the great things about buying all that stuff on-line is the Boxes. There's also the opportunity to spend all your money without leaving the house of course. That is really convenient when you think about it. This is the result of a recent on-line frenzy.
We can use the boxes for other things, but mostly they take up space 'till we get rid of them. Things are so dry around here that there is a Burning Ban in effect, so a fire is out. But for now, the critters seem to be putting them to good use.
Just so you won't be confused, on the left is Pistachio, Puddin' in the box, and with her back to us, is the infamous Two Face.

And not to be left out, that Stupid, Disobedient Dog, also known as Nobbie, is harassing Puddin' in the box. They just like to have fun together.

Still no significant rain here. The well is still a dry hole .

And now for the exciting part, soon to come, Nude Pictures of The Fuzz ! How about that ?
