What's Missing From This Picture?

Well, maybe you had to be here.

But the missing object (X) had been around our Home in the Woods for awhile...

And had made a few cameos here at Kinda Fuzzy from time to time.

As well as being featured on at least 1 occasion!

But perhaps it's best not to go into that at this time.

Suffice it to say that after giving great service to multiple family members, this vehicle's time had come.

And so with a neighbor in need of cheap transport, and not being put off by a bit of work, this tough little guy is headed back out into the wide world.

(At least that's the plan.)

Naturally The Fuzz's Sweetie is happy to be shed of the thing.  And it must be admitted that he is too.

But...

There was another complication to the affair.

With the impossibility of keeping one of the windows up, some of the kitties had made a home in there.

So now a replacement would have to be found.

Since The Fuzz and His Sweetie are down to only one dog these days, she had the idea of recycling one of the doghouses into a cathouse!

She also suggested mounting it on a stump that was conveniently located near the shop - and their feeding area.

So here we have it.

Just to note...

The Fuzz and His Sweetie had a safe and relatively uneventful trip home from the beach, enjoying some nice country roads, and family hospitality along the way.

Bit of Update

While We have been posting (when we actually do post) mostly about The Fuzz and His Sweetie's travels this summer;

There have been other things going on out here in the woods.

This...

for one thing.

There had been a litter of kittens needing a home.

And Our place out here in the woods is kinda Kitty Friendly.

There's plenty of room for play...

and kitty-type adventure.

And so The Fuzz and His Sweetie now have these Twins joining the rest of the Feline Festivities.

And that is not all!

Since the demise of 2/3 of the Dog Pack;

(they suspect foul play)

The Fuzz-

and especially His Sweetie- have been looking for another pup.

Searching the papers seems to only turn up those $200-400 High-Dollar Doggies.

This was not what they had in mind.

And they are both of the opinion that a Mixed Mutt makes the best yard dog anyway.

So it was time to begin a more concentrated search.

And it turned out that right out here, in the woods, one of the neighbors had this guy!

He seems to be the grandson of our own, lamented Buddha, himself.

He's a bit older than one usually looks for in a puppy, but that should be okay.

He is actually a very timid fellow,

and is still a bit homesick.

It will take some time of course,

but he is beginning to come out a bit.

Day in the Real BIg City

With the furry little kitty safely delivered at the Kitty Klinic, and coffee and donuts in the tummies, The Fuzz and His Sweetie continued on into the Real Big City.

The first stop was, of course, the Goodwill Outlet Store.  They found a few cool things there, and the price is always right.

Then it was over to Luna's Living Kitchen (recommended by a schoolteacher) for an unusual lunch.

And for The Fuzz, "Lunasagna".

The weather was pretty nice.  So after lunch, they had a glass of wine and watched the Blue Line light rail pass by a few times.

With a bit of time to kill, they moseyed around a bit and stumbled into the Savory Spice Shop.  It was a trap.  They didn't leave empty handed.

Although it was still a bit early, they decided to clear out before they got sucked into any place else.  Then it was back to the Sorta Big City to rescue the kitty, and head back to the woods.  And so arrived home safe and sound.

Day in the Sorta Big City

It is no secret that there are a lot of cats out here in the woods.  One might even say too many cats!  In an effort to get things under a bit of control, The Fuzz's Sweetie made arrangements for one more of the potential mama kitties to visit a clinic.  This clinic was in a neighboring Sorta Big City.
After making the early morning drop off, The Fuzz and His Sweetie headed for a coffee house they had visited on a previous expedition- only to find new hours posted.

But Our Fuzz had a Plan B.  He had gone on line previously, searching for coffee shops in the area.  And there were supposed to be 2 more, located just around the corner!  But when the corner was turned there were no coffee shops there.  But there was this interesting building.  
So while The Fuzz was off questioning a police officer about coffee shops (figuring he would know) His Sweetie took the opportunity to make a few sketches of the cool architecture.
They ended up at a Dunkin' Donuts !
But since they would have to wait all day to take their little kitty home, The Fuzz and His Sweetie moved on to their next adventure, the real Big City.

Kitty Nursery

While working on those signs out at the Work Shed, The Fuzz had to share the space with the Kitty Nursery.

There are still a lot of Kitties around here.  The Fuzz does not really mind sharing his space.  But it can get a little messy.

And they do give all the cats something to do.

Doctoring Kitties

Here's a look at the method The Fuzz's Sweetie has developed for Doctoring Kitties.

It's actually pretty effective.

This one only needed some drops in the ear, but it's best not to take chances with a cat.  Those claws can do some real damage.

Really a Lot of Cats!

A few weeks ago, whilst on a visit to that Big City, the Home of a  Famous University, The Fuzz and Family got to visit the Cat Refuge.

There's like over 300 Kitties camped here.  The Fuzz and Family have a few of their own, but, That's a lot of Cats! 

This is a labor of love and the Kitties are well cared for.

And speaking of cats, here's the latest here in the woods.  Anyone want a Kitty?

 She is the "blur" on the right.
She is doing fine these days.  She is here with one of her foster mothers.  We do keep her separate from the other younger kittens.  So she is around people a lot.  But she does get Cat on Cat time as well, so maybe she won't think she's a "People" like the late Puddin' did.

Kitty Update

Not two, but three white Kittens.

You can see mama in the background. 

And here is a closer look.  1, 2, and 3 are, indeed, White Kitties.  But you can see Number 4 there, is not, a White Kitty.  Number 4 is little Allie, the orphan of a previous post.  It seems the Mama Kitty adopted this unfortunate, to complete her new family.  This is a good thing.

And in other news, the cat had kittens.  There are only 2, but she has also adopted that other orphaned one.  So we have Kittens now.  The Fuzz promises to get pix up soon.

The Blur

So what is this Blur?

The Fuzz saw it (kinda) at our Thanksgiving Feast.
This thing was moving pretty fast.
But eventually it did slow down enough for The Fuzz to snatch a quick pix.It looks fairly harmless at this point.
But don't let that fool you, these things can be dangerous!

We seem to have a bit of trouble maintaining our Kitty population out here. Some simply disappear, and some seem to acquire bullet holes.With that in mind, The Fuzz's Sweetie acquired this Momma Cat, and her 2 Kitties.
A while back, we watched the flick The Secret of Kells. (which we highly recommend*) In the flick there is a Kitty named, after that infamous Cat of Yore, Pangur Ban. Said Kitty is white, with different colored eyes. And so, meet our own Pangur Ban. And here is a Cute Kitty Pix of Pangur's sister, Cleo. (as in Cleopatra)

Yes, unfortunately this is exactly what it looks like. In our previous post (the Fuzz seems to be neglecting things here) we introduced 3 new kitties. Well, it seems that things have taken a turn for the worse. Shortly after introducing these little pests to their new home, The Fuzz and His Sweetie decided to have dinner in our wonderful Out Door Dining Area.
After a delightful meal, upon entering the trailer, The Fuzz noticed a peculiar odor. It seems that our fuzzy little friends had been busy. Very busy. There was poo on the bedroom floor. There was poo on the living room floor. But what finally did it, was the poo on The Fuzz's bed.
Needless to say, these kitties have become Outside Kitties!

Kitty Cats

The Kitty population out here had been getting a bit low. So we figured it was time to do something about that. But, we had to wait until The Fuzz and His Sweetie were home from their Big Adventure.

New Kitty

When we moved here, we brought a number of Kitty Cats with us. But over time the population has become somewhat diminished.
Life here in the woods seems to be hard on little Kitties. We were down to 2 of the furry little things. So when one of the fellows at work came up with this little thing, The Fuzz took her off his hands. This fellow was already dealing with 13 dogs of his own. A sort of a One Man Critter Rescue Operation as it were.
At any rate, The Fuzz would like to present to all his loyal readers, Gracie, the Kitty Cat.
