The sea was dead calm as the ship broke into the sunlight . The Lieutenant called the Captain from his cabin as soon as they first sighted the boat. They had been moving through a thick and unusual fog. When they suddenly emerged, the boat was right there, in front of them.
They hove to, and lowered a boat to investigate...
