The Fuzz and His Sweetie liked the Havana Carolina Café so much, that they wanted to take the rest of the family over for (a late) breakfast the next morning.
So every body walked uptown to the Café for breakfast. It must be admited that some of the "breakfasts" were, in fact, a bit more like lunch. But the food was great, and The Fuzz plans to go back whenever he is in that part of the country.

Messing Around in Town
(Blogger seems to have made a few changes here. It may take The Fuzz a bit to get used to this New World Order. But, he promises to do his best with it.)
After hanging around the Havana Carolina Café for a while, The Fuzz and His Sweetie walked up the block a ways until they came to The Bead Lady's place.
The power was still out here, but the door was open. And who can resist a Bead Store! Certainly not The Fuzz's Sweetie. But, Our Fuzz likes beads too.*
Fortunately the place is on a corner and has real windows. So there was enough light to keep a Bead Person busy for a while. Here's the inside story at The Bead Lady. One of the customers is here searching though the thousands for that one elusive bead. Well, the power did finally come back on in that part of town. We heard later that there was a wreck of some sort that knocked it out that morning. And so after a pleasant morning out, The Fuzz and His Sweetie made there way back to the rest of the family.

Treehouse
While on our visit to new and old family. The fuzz and His Sweetie had the opportunity to wander around town a bit. On one street they saw an interesting old house that was for sale. Since the place was for sale and all, they figured they wouldn't get locked up for checking it out. Out in the backyard they saw this cool Treehouse! This seems to be a Masterpiece of Treehouseness. Everyone should have one of these things, even if they don't have kids.
The Fuzz and His Sweetie had the morning to themselves. So they stopped in for coffee at the Havana Carolina Café. (more about this later)
This was a bit exciting as there was a power failure while they were there. But since they already had their coffee, ! No problema ¡

Side Trip
On their way to visit that little Air Force Brat, The Fuzz, His Sweetie and that Young Daughter had to pass though the Big City. And this was a perfect opportunity to hit that Secret Greek Grocery, Minos! Of course it is a Secret Greek Grocery, isn't it.
If you look closely, you might even see the sign!
The Fuzz and His Sweetie were here one time late last year, and were determined to make it back.
You ask why?
Check out these barrels of Feta Cheese. This is the real deal.
The Fuzz and his Sweetie also picked up some of the Olives, which he highly recommends.
Then it was back on their merry way.

Wash Day
The Fuzz has been a bit slack with his posts as of late. It would be nice if he could claim busyness, hard work and stuff like that. But the sad truth is, that there is a certain element of pure laziness involved.
Living on a dirt road out here in the woods, our Luxury Vehicle tends to pick up a bit of red mud at times. So when it was time to take a road trip to visit our new Air Force Brat Granddaughter, The Fuzz's Sweetie suggested a trip through the Quickie Carwash down at the local Engles Store.
It's not exactly "Pay to Play", but more a case of "Cash to Splash" here.
And so the machine must be fed before entering into the mysterious tunnel.
But there is not much to see in there.
Or if there is, we couldn't see it.
But the machine spurted and splashed and sudsed and stuff like that.
And when it was over, we had a (relatively) clean car!The Fuzz, His Sweetie and the Young Daughter went on their way all clean and shiny.

Virtually Indestructible
A while back, The Fuzz reported on a sad situation out here in the woods. The tarps over our Patio-Firepit area had collapsed due to deterioration of the ropes. The Fuzz had promised to take care of this. Well, it took a while for our Busy Fuzz to get to it.So feast your eyes on this.
And note that as promised, The Fuzz has employed this virtually indestructible Steel Cable in the hope of eliminating future problems of this sort.
We are enjoying the coming of spring this year.

Lawn Care Continued
In our last post, we mentioned a problem The Fuzz was having with some obstacles in his attempts at yard work.
He decided to make another foray into this field. This time he would use his trusty Weedwacker to clear things out. This thing was made for this sort of work.

After driving into town, he fired it up, only to discover that a key piece of this machine was missing.
You can see that the little knob that holds the spool on, is simply not there!
You will also see the fine dependable device that Our Fuzz finally used to accomplish his purpose.

Lawn Care
The Fuzz has been having a string of bad luck lately with his equipment.
If you look closely at the pix to the right, you may see one of his problems*.
And here is a closer look.
This was in an area, formerly used as a garden The pipes helped support some timbers used for terracing on the hill. Our Fuzz was over at the Old Place, trying to get this area under control, when his trusty lawnmower found this pipe.
Of course things came to an abrupt stop.
Alas, the shaft was bent. Not one to give up easily, Our Determined Fuzz decided that he could still use this machine until it died completely.
This happened sooner than he expected. This last pix is the soccer ball that was waiting in ambush. This time the Key in the flywheel apparently sheered throwing everything out of time.
It seems The Fuzz is in the market for some new lawn equipment.
*There are more to come!
