Well, I still see the mouse, he moved a tad to the left, but since he's not really there, I'm going to agree with The Canuck and say it's tree bark, maybe a wound oozing sap?

I've got it! You pinched a picture from NASA's Mars rover Curiosity, and it prove's we've contaminated the planet with mice!
