The Big Day- Revisited

I promised some more pix of the move, so here we are.
As you can see, it was a tight situation. But these guys are professionals. They took their time and eased it though the woods without any major damage.
Here, they've gotten it off the road and are backing it down though the woods to it's new home.
We didn't make it easy for them. In order to position things like we wanted, it was necessary to back this 70ft. behemoth all the way in from the dirt road. And the "Driveway" had a couple of turns in it. The place is sort of a clearing in the middle of the woods.
It always helps to have the right equipment for a difficult job. This is the hitch on their truck. It will move from side to side in addition to up and down. And they had to use these features in some of the tight maneuvers.
But just because the thing was in the right place didn't mean the work was over. These guys wanted their wheels back, so the *Trailer would have to go up onto these blocks. Actually, that was part of the deal.
The Fuzz didn't really want to swap places with these fellows. They had to dig out the places for the blocks with little short shovels underneath that thing. But they finally got the thing up on the blocks, and got their trailer wheels back. They are Hard, Hard Workers, everyday.
So now the Trailer is in place, and the movers payed off. We still need a Well, Septic Tank and a bunch of inspections. Plus, there is plenty of work on the Trailer itself. You may have noticed, this is not an Expensive, New Trailer, but, an Old Trailer, in need of some repairs. But that is the way we do things here. And so, we will keep you all posted as things progress on our move to the country.

*It should be noted, that we realize that this is not a "Trailer", but a "Mobil Home". But The Fuzz insists that anything pulled behind a truck like this is still a "Trailer". It's just common sense.

So you guys didn't have to cut a new driveway? It looks from the pictures like you used the old way in... Saved some trees I suppose :)

Indeed. We couldn't stand the idea of cutting a new, strait driveway. The mover thought he could do it if we cut a couple more at the turns and the road. Really, it looks pretty good.

Are you still going to have a wood burning stove for heat?

If so - looks like you will not be getting very cold!

Those movers did a great job . That hitch is an impressive piece of equipment.

L- We will still burn wood here until we're ready to move (which could be a while yet) and will install a wood burner in the new place.

Az- That hitch looks like the kind of thing guys could have fun with.

W- Yes, all the hard hard workers!
