A Bit of Culture

Whilst in Washington, The Fuzz, His Sweetie and the Young Daughter wanted to take the opportunity to take in a bit of culture.

So they decided to work in a visit to the National Gallery of Art.
The outside was pretty impressive itself.

 So was the inside.

This lady was busy with her brush. There were an awful lot of things to see, but they were meeting friends, so had to cut they're visit short.  On the way out, The Fuzz noticed a whole exhibition of Impressionist paintings.  And so it was decided to go back the next morning.  And so that's what they did.

Spider Adventures 3

While The Fuzz was working at the kitchen sink the other day, he was able to document this gruesome affair.
It seems that this unfortunate wasp had the misfortune to blunder into the deadly web The little spider would move in, and the wasp would run him off.
In vain the wasp fanned it's wings, trying to break free. It looked as if he was destined to the fate of other unfortunates. But The Fuzz has been stung too many times to feel much sympathy for these vicious little things. It took a while, but in the end it was another "wrap". Here, our spider ally has been joined by one of it's little buddies.

More Adventures in Laundry

The fuzz has mentioned being involved in some new pursuits these days.  Well one of these involves the mysteries of the Laundry Room (and it's equipment).
With His Sweetie off in town, he decided to tackle the seemingly simple task of running a couple loads of laundry.  This pix may help to illustrate this adventure.

This is a dryer.  You will notice a knob, some pliers, and a lot of black fuzz.

First the knob.  In order to operate the dryer, one must first set the timer with the knob.  This would seem to be a simple enough thing, but somehow Our Fuzz managed to screw up the knob in the process.  He hopes to someday find a replacement.

The pliers were used by The Resourceful Fuzz to get the dryer to work so he would not have a huge pile of wet clothes when His Sweetie returned.

Now about the black fuzz.  It seems that on a recent trip to one of the Super Duper Thriftstores, the Young Daughter* had acquired a large fuzzy jacket of some kind.  Not wishing to half ass his laundry chore, The Fuzz included this item in the load of wash.  When he opened the washer, and started to remove what he expected to be clean clothes, he found them all embedded with this black fuzz!  Now what!

It is amazing the things that can complicate a simple thing like washing up a few dirty clothes.  We are happy to relate, that after a trip though the dryer (with several cleanings of the lint filter) all that fuzz did come off of the clothes.  Now The Fuzz just has to find a new knob somewhere.  Are there washing machine junkyards?

*The Fuzz toyed with the idea of blaming her for this trouble.  But that wouldn't really be right.  Like Harry Trueman said, "The buck stops here".

Time for Other Pursuits

No longer being  a productive member of society, The Fuzz has more time for other pursuits, like the Laundromat!
With His Sweetie occupied elsewhere, it fell to Our Fuzz to haul the rugs into town for their periodic bath. Things went amazingly well in that unaccustomed environment.  But once he had them back in the woods, the rain set in.
It took about a week, and numerous "rinse cycles", but they finally made it back to their home in the Rug Place.  These days The Fuzz is enjoying all kinds of new experiences.

Wet Things

We've been getting plenty of rain storms lately, and The Fuzz was out tripping on the remnants.

You might recognize the latest Mystery Pix in the bunch. This morning he went over to the Old Place and did a bit of yard work, cutting a bit of grass. Since we started getting rain, it's growing again. He also cut a bag full of Okra, and wallowed in poison Ivy for a while. We'll have to wait to see what comes of that. But here's a few more pix of wet things.

Weekend Project

The Fuzz does have a bit more time on his hands these days.  His Sweetie was having some troubles working in the flower bed around one of the rose bushes.  It was getting to be an aggravating and somewhat painful experience.
It had already been decided to put up a trellis of some sort, along the trailer to take care of this.
The Fuzz went down into the woods and cut a few saplings, and brought them up. Wanting to keep things simple, his plan called for weaving smaller branches though the long ones to tie it all together.
It went pretty well. There was a bit of a problem with the long pieces working their way out towards the sides. So The Fuzz tied them with some wire at the bottom and at the top. That worked OK. Then he and His Sweetie stood the thing up, and he worked those dangerous tentacles in. Here's a couple pix of the finished project.

Dinner Time

The other day, as The Fuzz stepped into the "Back Room" to attend to a bit of "personal business", he came upon this little fellow.
The little fellow was busy wrapping up his dinner.  He kept rolling it over and over, winding spider silk around.  By the time The Fuzz got back with his camera, it was already a "Wrap".
Looking at the difference in size between them, one can only conclude that this little guy has quite an appetite!  Or perhaps this is the arachnoidian equivalent of a Doggy Bag.
