The Plus Side of Rain

While The Fuzz and His Sweetie have been happy with the weather during their stay on the island, it might have been a little disappointing to folks who only had the weekends available.
That was when most of the rain occurred.
The streets were pretty much deserted.
But once the rain had passed The Fuzz was back out for his morning stroll.
And rain does have it's plus side.
There were some remnants of the rain in puddles on the ground.
The Fuzz hasn't given up on his quest to photograph the Moon yet.
Here he found a reflection of it in this rain water.
In fact those puddles were a great photo opportunity.
And here's a look at this Topsail Beach Icon.

Tomorrow is the end of the month, and the end of this stay at the beach.
The "off season" certainly has it's good points.
Maybe The Fuzz will be back again next year.
That would be nice.

Henna at Art Blooms

Well, it's been what?  10 days!
Is The Fuzz just lazy... or busy?

Well, we won't get into that right now.  But there has been a lot of stuff going on.  And one thing was a Henna Night at the Art Blooms.

The Fuzz actually has little to do with this, other than being along for the ride.
Here at the Art Blooms they seem to be into a bit of everything.  The Fuzz and (more so) His Sweetie have gotten involved in a couple of these things.  Where else can you do Art Journaling with a bottle of wine?

But, this henna stuff really involves His Sweetie.

Here's a couple of pix.

Feet Pix

Actually, it was a pretty quiet night.  But we did have fun.  And these sort of things do give The Fuzz an excuse to get out of the woods on occasion.

Painting Party

The Family is growing.

We're still waiting to get a look at this one, but it was time to get "Ducks in a Row" as they say.
So as is often the case, it was Party Time.
In this case, a Painting Party!

So supplies were gathered and all that could make it gathered at the home of the expectant, and painted.
Each participant had chosen an animal to add to the nursery, and hopefully, gotten in a little practice-
or at least a plan.

The first step was to prepare the wall for the masterpieces.
(in this case The Fuzz's)
Then it was time for the details.

The Fuzz started with an outline.
Even the cousins got into the act.
There were lots of colors to choose from.
The expectant Dad chose the King of Beasts.
Here's a look at The Fuzz's contribution.
The work continued.
And things began to take their final form.

When the Painting was finished, it was time forTacos.

Watch for the next post to see more of the finished
nursery.

A Bit of Culture

Whilst in Washington, The Fuzz, His Sweetie and the Young Daughter wanted to take the opportunity to take in a bit of culture.

So they decided to work in a visit to the National Gallery of Art.
The outside was pretty impressive itself.

 So was the inside.

This lady was busy with her brush. There were an awful lot of things to see, but they were meeting friends, so had to cut they're visit short.  On the way out, The Fuzz noticed a whole exhibition of Impressionist paintings.  And so it was decided to go back the next morning.  And so that's what they did.

Beach Art, 2010

On our recent Beach Trip that creative New Daddy decided to take up Sand Sculpture.

Here is a look at his handiwork.
He drew quite a crowd.
Pretty nice.

More Beach Art

The Beach Trip is history.
But we have the memories, and the Pix.
But there are also these special ones, courtesy of that Little Known Local Artist* who has graciously permitted The Fuzz to share them with y'all.

Beet It

It will be admitted that The Fuzz has never been one of The Gloved One's many fans. In fact, he is more familiar with Weird Al's parodies of Jackson's work.
But His Sweetie pulled up these Beets from the Garden the other day, and he couldn't resist.

This wasn't all of them, there was another milk crate at least 1/2 full.
She pickled some, and made us some yummy Borscht also.
This morning, before it got too hot we picked these Green Beans.

The garden is doing pretty well this year, since there has been plenty of rain. It's hard to believe June is almost over. But next week is The 4th. Seems like every year goes by faster and faster. Or else, I get slower and slower.
Our annual Beach Trip is behind us, but it seems like a good time to share this one, by a Little Known Local Artist.
