Christmas Flicks

Christmas is one of those times filled with traditions-
Old & New.

Movies?

Well, yeah, sometimes movies.
It's the time of year to kick back and watch some of the old favorites.
The Fuzz's copy was an old VCR tape-
But alas- the VCR had died.  Finally, The Fuzz and His Sweetie drove into town in the hope of finding a DVD.
In desperation they drove over to Wally World.
The place was pretty busy for a Monday afternoon.
But of course it is the Christmas Season!
It brought back memories of those Last Minute Christmas Shopping Escapades.
That was a tradition that will not be missed.

Of course, as so often happens, although there were thousands of DVDs there, The Muppet one was not-
Nor was The Santa Clause- the other flick on their shortlist.
Well, maybe they need to try Amazon next!

Real to Reel International Film Festival

Tomorrow night starts the annual Real to Reel International Film Festival.
So, The Fuzz might be a bit busy and not be around here much.
But he wanted to leave this little pix of one of his favorite flowers from the b
Linkeach.
So, enjoy.

Gardens and Other Stuff

The Greentent
We finally got some spring planting done. This is our famous Greentent, used to give things a bit of a boost. It also keeps some of the hungry critters away.
The weather has been nice the last few days, hot even, but that is fixin' to change they say. Well it was nice to have a taste of Spring for a bit.
There was a bit of lull on our trailer project.
Link
1 The Fuzz's truck was acting up.
2 The weather, of course.
3 We were out of town for a bit to take that College Student back to school. This also included a visit to Dental Victim Daughter. Unfortunately, The Fuzz is familiar with that sort of thing himself. Such is life.
But the truck is hopefully back in action and we expect to get back to work out there. The Fuzz's Sweetie has already started. Today we got our first mail out there. Still no mailbox, but the Mail Lady caught her out there. I guess now we'll need a mail box.
Tonight, we plan to watch "Gone With the Wind". That should pretty much keep us occupied 'till sometime tomorrow.

And don't forget about our Mystery Pix. There's still no winner yet.

Flicks to See

Been enjoying some flicks by Jim Jarmusch lately. I think we found his stuff by looking for stuff with Roberto Benigni in, who's work we really enjoy. Benigni is in Down by Law as an Italian Tourist in New Orleans who ends up in jail with some other weird characters. In this one, you can watch Benigni without subtitles. His English isn't so good, but that's part of it.

Coffee and Cigarettes is a series of shorts, with a variety of characters meeting over, coffee and, cigarettes, of course. Some of these are a real trip, and they even manage to bring Nicola Tesla into the picture.

In Mystery Train some Japanese tourists and others deal with Elvis and his ghost, while in a cheap hotel in Memphis. You might wish there were subtitles here, but that's part of what it is.

Tigrero: A Film That Was Never Made is a documentary where Jarmusch returns to the Amazon with director Sam Fuller. Fuller did some filming here years ago in an attempt to make "Tigrero". This never got off the ground, as he relates that the insurance companies wouldn't let it happen. But there is lots of cool stuff about the Indians.

The last one I've got here is Dead Man. This features Johnny Depp as an easterner who ends up out in the western wilderness with a weird indian. It is just strange. Local Daughter & Co. claim it is actually Dante's Inferno in disguise.

We got all these from Netflix.
