Where I live, we miss out on the excitement of the first day of spring. There are only two seasons - hurricane season (noted for its hot weather, frequent afternoon thunder storms, thick clouds of blood sucking insects, and hurricanes) and not hurricane season (cooler weather, less bugs, more clear sky days and nights, no hurricanes, and swarms of French Canadians driving motor homes escaping the snow).
