Waterline

Here's a quick look at our new government approved waterline. This baby runs all the way from our new government approved water well to our not so new, not yet approved, trailer. Note the attention to detail here, the cut off valve and even an outside spigot. This will be concealed by some sort of underpinning later.

And now, as to our latest Mystery Pix-
There have been a couple of guesses so far. The Canuck's was a bit scary. But no winners yet. So here's a clue, Think Vegetable Matter.

More Mystery Pix

Hey! What's wrong with all you Mystery Pix Fans? I mean, only 1 attempt on our last one! Gee! Well, The Fuzz says he's willing to overlook this disappointing lack of enthusiasm for now. However, he is willing to give you slackers one more chance. So here it is, our latest exciting,
Mystery Pix!

Surely, this should be an easy one.

And for the latest news on our new well- The Fuzz reports that the well has been inspected by the proper authorities and successfully passed this intense scrutiny. And not only that, the water line to the actual trailer was also approved. Of course, there is still much to do and a number more of those inspections, but this is another step toward our goal of a new home in the woods.

Well... And Not So Well

Well, things are moving along OK, sort of. You can see here Water down there in this new well. At this time there was about 38' of cool clear water in this High Dollar Hole. This is good.
What is not so good is that The Fuzz was a bit confused and thought there was a "well permit" that there wasn't. It should be noted that The Fuzz is not very adept at dealing with bureaucracies and all that red tape stuff. It was not the Well Guy's bad. He asked if there was such a permit and the somewhat confused Fuzz thought he had one. The result of this debacle (thanks to The Fuzz's Sweetie, who handled it) was that a real "well permit" was obtained, but at a price. There was, of course, a stiff penalty involved, but at least the well didn't need to be moved.
And here's a look at this troublesome well. As you can see the work was continued till dark. The job's not finished yet. But these cement "tiles" are in there and some gravel was added today.
This all has to be sealed with more cement. Then it gets a pump, and a line to the trailer.
We'll try to get some more pix up of this fascinating process.

And now, here is a look at That Stupid, Disobedient Dog and her new buddy, The Buddha Buddy.

As can be seen, they seem to be getting on fine.
Here they are in the process of destroying one of The Fuzz's old socks.

Things Are Moving Well

The Well Guys (and Well Gal) finally made it out.
Here's a look at their rig.

This is not a modern "State of the Art" sort of rig, but still very effective.
The Fuzz had elected to go for a larger "Bored" well as opposed to one of those "Driven" ones where a relatively small diameter pipe is driven deeper into (hopefully) an aquifer down there somewhere. His reasoning being that he would prefer a well he could drop a bucket into if it became necessary.
The Well Guy (with extensive experience in these matters) told him that the deeper wells in this area often end up with a lot of iron and stuff in the water. This does not mean that you can dispense with your iron supplements, but that the water will taste bad and your wash will turn red. This is not what we want.
Here is a look at the rig set up.

It was a tight fit getting it in there, but they made it by only cutting one small cherry tree.
In this shot*, you can see the shaft (A) that descends into the future well whilst turning the "bit" (C) down there at the bottom. Off to the right, is the boom (B) that pulls the bucket of dirt out to be dumped. And below, is a look at the first bucket full, the start of the drill. We'll have more exciting pictures of this fascinating process in future posts, maybe even exciting Video! So check back with us here at Kinda Fuzzy!

*The Fuzz wants me to apologize for those pitiful tiny A,B and C's, so Sorry about That.

Double Dog Trouble

Meet Buddha Buddy

Here we have that Stupid, Disobedient Dog meeting her new buddy, now know as the Buddha Buddy. This is largely The Fuzz's Sweetie's doing. For some reason she didn't think that 1 doggy was enough trouble by itself. So now there are 2, double trouble, as it were. But he is a cute little thing, and hasn't pooped on the floor yet.

In other news, the Well Guys finally showed up and bored us a well. It looks like there will be plenty of water. There's still a bit more to do to finish the job up, but we'll try to get some pix up soon.

Gluttonous Goldfish is a Goner

Yup, That Gluttonous Goldfish is no longer with us. It is sad, but true. Nature did finally take it's course. We had thought perhaps he would eventually choke down his oversize meal, but alas, it was not to be. But all was not lost, our flowerbed did receive a bit of fertilization as a result of this sad affair.

Still no well. The Fuzz talked to the Well Digger (or maybe "Well Borer") today, and he expects to be on the job tomorrow. If so, we may have pix of this exciting event soon.

And now, about Tuesday's Mystery Pix.- Not a moldy orange peal. Also not beer foam, although this is close. It is in fact freshly mixed up Orange Juice from our Star Wars Blowout. But here's a new one.

No foam here.
Now for those with insider information,
No Cheating!
For everyone else,
Good Luck.

Delicious Ale

This Delicious Ale was given to The Fuzz by a Thoughtful Daughter
Trader Joe seems to have a good thing going here.
The Fuzz (and His Sweetie) report that is, or rather was, some of the best ever.
It is highly recommended.
We broke it out during our recent Star Wars Blowout.
Many thanks- you know who you are.

And here is one more Mystery Pix!
The Fuzz usually messes around with these things to, you know, make it interesting. But this is pretty much what it is.

And just so you know, the status on our Greedy Little Goldfish is- no change.

Snow and Other Things

They seem to be calling for Snow here tonight. The Fuzz says he'll believe it when he sees it. But then, we have seen it, sorta.

These white looking splotches are in fact Snowflakes! These actually fell from the sky this very morning.
Here is an even closer look. Note the little white specks sprinkled here on these bricks. This is real Snow. Unfortunately, (or fortunately, depending on your point of view) this was pretty much the extent of it. I'm afraid it stopped shortly after this picture was made.
But The Fuzz made a run out to the woods for a load of firewood just so we would be prepared. I realize my Yankee readers are probably scoffing at our diminutive dusting, but we have to make the best of things with what we've got.

You may remember the tale of the Gluttonous Goldfish. Well the situation hasn't changed. But The Fuzz was inspired to compose a tribute to this Foolish Fishy.

A Lesson from a Greedy Fish

He took too big a bite
I'm sure he knows by now
To be a pig ain't right
But it's too late somehow
To choke it down 's too much
And spitting out won't work
The problem is that such
A mouthful makes a jerk.

This weekend we had our Annual Movie Blowout. This year, we brought back the ever popular Star Wars Blowout. This was the original Blowout and we thought it was time to bring it back. I will say that we only watched episodes IV, V & VI, the real Star Wars Trilogy. I mean, what's with all that new stuff anyway? Do we really care about a remake of that Ben Hur chariot race anyway? Be that as it may, we did enjoy watching, snacking and all that stuff.

We'll keep you posted on our little Doofis Fish's Dilemma.

Gluttony Has It's Price

Here is one of our vicious gold fish admiring himself in the glass.
Here is a closer look at the fiend. We had been planing to perhaps donate these Vicious Fishes to a Friend's Fish Pond and be fish free in our future home in the woods. But upon further reflection we thought maybe we would still appreciate having them around. But the tank was seeming just a little empty, and we decided to add a few. The Fuzz's Sweetie purchased a couple more little goldies, and the fuzz thought to grab a couple more.
At the Fish Store he saw some cool little Cat Fish, and knowing from experience that they could live in community with those goldfish, he thought they might be a nice addition, a little variety. There was a brief moment of concern regarding their size, but it wasn't like they were guppies or something.
Everything was fine until this morning when we found this situation. This glutton seems to have bitten off more than he can chew here. Yes he has his little snack, but can't seem to get it down. I suppose if he were a snake, he could just unhinge the jaws and it would be yum-yum time. But alas, this is not the case. We thought of perhaps helping him out a little, but The Fuzz says he's only getting what he deserves. I guess we'll just wait, and let nature take it's course here. It's been all day so far and no change. We'll let you know how it comes out- or doesn't come out.

Regarding our latest Mystery Pix, both Levi and Woodie were on the right track. It is a closeup of the hub of this old rake The Fuzz saw here in the bushes. But of course, close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

The Fuzz's Sweetie thinks they were close enough. Maybe, but The Fuzz insists on maintaining high standards here, so, no Noprize. But many thanks to all who participate.

The "Lego Truck"

This one has been referred to as the "Lego Truck".
The Fuzz saw it out at the Landfill and just happened to have his camera. So now we all get to see it. I don't believe it is actually made of Legos though, but one of the coworkers named it as such and it seemed to fit. The Lego Truck belongs to a neighboring municipality which utilizes the same landfill.
You may have noticed what appeares to be some sort of tractor in front of The Lego Truck. It is, in fact, a bulldozer. The Lego Truck is somewhat unconventional in that it is Front Wheel Drive. This has many advantages I'm sure, but operation in mud is not one of them.

The Fuzz regrets that our Mystery Pix of late have been lacking somewhat in Mystery. And so we present our....
Latest Mystery Pix
No cheating now!

Midnight Cat Poetry

For all of you insomniacs, we present the latest addition to the Cat Poetry Collection.

When Cats prowl in the yard at night
They often leave a small surprise
Buried in the dust
And if by chance you find that prize
doing things you must
The bottom of your boot's a sight
But that's not how you found it
The sense of smell gave it away
You knew you'd stepped in cat shit
And though you like the furry things
Not kicking them is rough
It wasn't done intentionally
'Twas just your crummy luck.

The Fuzz claims this was inspired by an actual event !

Mystery Pix Again

Apparently that last one was too easy.
Levi and that Canuck both got it quickly, too quickly.
So how about this one!
And to bring you the Up To The Minute News on the trailer situation, Still no Well. The Well Guy apparently didn't make it out there today. Maybe tomorrow. And keep watching for New Cat Poetry!

A New Mystery Pix!

That's right
We here present our latest

Mystery Pix

In other news, The Fuzz met with the Well Digger Guy today, and we hope to have a well within the week. Of course we won't be able to actually use it until we get power also. I guess the old Rope and Bucket days are history. Now they make you seal everything up. Oh Well.

Art-O-Mat is now Local!

The many longtime followers of this Blog may remember that amazing phenomenon, The Art-O-Mat.
Well, Art-O-Mat is now Local. Here is the actual proof. The Fuzz shot this right here in our own Little Town.
We ran across this article in the local paper. It did get our attention, since it may be remembered, The Fuzz's Sweetie and Daughter are both involved in this ingenious method of spreading a "Little Art" around. For those who may have some degree of memory loss, or may be just a little slow, Art-O-Mat is a way of dispensing small objects of "Art" using retired Cigarette Vending Machines. Somehow the local art community found out about this and managed to obtain one of these amazing machines.
Here are a couple of local fans working that Art-O-Mat machine now. Note the T-Shirt. These are obviously serious Art-O-Mat Collectors.
Here we can see a demonstration of how this all works. A token is purchased, and inserted in to the Art-O-Mat machine. Then one tries to decide which flavor to try. Next the appropriate knob is pulled, as seen here. The last step is to open your purchase and admire the latest addition to your Art Collection.
And here's a few examples, the results of an Art-O-Mat Frenzy.

We Are Not Alone? The Octopus UFO.

This just in!

A WIND turbine stood wrecked yesterday with one of its giant 65ft blades torn off — after it was hit by a UFO.

" A woman motorist told how she saw a UFO zoom towards the wind farm and strike the 290ft turbine."

They claim the turbine blade is missing. Of course there are other theories on this.

"It sounds unbelievable but actually we don't have any explanation at the moment.

"Give us a few days and if there is a rational explanation we will find it."

One "explanation" is a block of "frozen urine" from an airplane.

But there are Witnesses-

"
...another witness, described how he looked out of his landing window and saw a “massive ball of light with tentacles going right down to the ground” over the wind farm. He said: “It was huge. With the tentacles it looked just like an octopus."

Fuzz News, we report, you decide.

Waiting in the Cold

Well, The Old Fuzz has been staying busy these days. But he's not gonna cop out with one of his infamous "*Mystery Pix" tonight. He does have fun with them though.
After work today he went to meet the Well Guy out at the trailer. He had to wait for a while out there in the freezing cold woods. So to pass the time, he put down a few lines.

The trees are bare
In the woods where
I sit and wait
Out there
Is this my fate
The sky is clear
I still am here
It's getting late
The sun sinks low
And I don't know
The night i fear
Will soon be here
And i must go.

But so much for our literary efforts. We do like to post a picture when possible, so here is one from the Bandu Tournament at our recent Family Christmas Gathering.

Just so you know, this was not the winning Bit of Bandu.

*We haven't given up on our Mystery Pix. Keep watching for even more Fantastic Mystery Pix!

2008 Revisited

Here we go into a brand new year. The last one was something else. There's been a lot of changes here for The Fuzz and his. There have been a lot of Cats, some alas, no longer with us. We finally got rain and there was always something interesting on the job. We had a sort of a preview of the economy tanking. There were always cats to doctor, and then a hint of things to come. There were those Big City trips, working trips to the woods, and violence in the night. With the warmer weather we finally made it camping and spent some time afloat. There was some time at the beach, and we began our search for a trailer.
Summer was ending and it was a new chapter for that Academical Son, but the dry times had returned. For what it's worth, the world didn't end, and we succeeded in moving that piano, although the pain continued. We finally found what we were looking for, and made our annual pilgrimage to the past.
Work continued in the woods and we finally got the trailer moved. One more trip to celebrate the Nephew's Wedding, and remember The Fuzz and His Sweetie's (a major event), and we end the year with the Christmas Season.
The world may be in turmoil, but all in all, 2008 was good to us. We thank God for his blessings and look forward to the adventure of this new year, 2009.
And we even have a new Mystery Pix for you.
So long for now.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!
